OUR PRACTICE
We are an independent local Building Surveying practice established to serve the needs of Developers, churches, commercial and retail businesses, tenants, landlords and their advisers including Solicitors, Accountants, Insurance Brokers, Loss Adjusters and Property and Facilities Managers, as well as Homeowners.
Whilst principally serving the Rhondda Valley, we are happy to assist our clients anywhere and with over 35 years experience in Building Surveying and Architectural projects, in both the UK and Europe, we offer a wide range of services, and are able to act promptly, effectively and confidently on your behalf at competitive rates. Coupled with our experience and networking within a multi-disciplinary environment, we can act as lead consultants, providing a complete package tailored to suit your own property requirements.
We are members of and regulated by the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS) carrying out our business in accordance with their Professional Rules of Conduct. In addition, as a requirement of the RICS, we carry Professional Indemnity Insurance and have a requisite Complaints Procedure, copies of which can be made available upon request.
We are committed to working with our clients in protecting the environment and, also, where necessary, provide additional services for clients with disabilities, which reflect our responsible attitude.
OUR PRINCIPAL
James Murray DipBS MRICS IMaPS MISVA began his career in Edinburgh, working as a graduate Surveyor for a national firm of Chartered Surveyors, qualifying as a Chartered Building Surveyor in 1993. In January 1996, James moved to South Wales to join a leading international firm of Chartered Surveyors offering a wide range of Building Consultancy services to numerous public and private sector clients.
James specialises in the preparation of architectural plans, building surveys, Planned Maintenance programmes, Party Wall matters, Schedules of Condition and disabled access audits, advising a number of clients in respect of their duties under the Equality Act, as well as the preparation of Reinstatement Cost Assessments for insurance purposes.
James is a Principal Designer as defined by the Construction (Design and Management) Regulations 2015, advising Clients in respect of CDM Regulations on a wide range of projects and other, general health and safety matters. He is NEBOSH qualified and also an Incorporated Member of the Association for Project Safety.
In addition, he has monitored a number of large developments throughout the UK and Europe and has also acted as an Expert Witness in respect of various property matters in the County Court, principally in respect of Building Pathology/Defects analysis, as well as Dilapidations claims.
